Nawang Chongba Sherpa Assistant Instructor, KCC Basic Group
Nawang is a mountain guide from Khumjung, working for Adventure Consultants. Nawang started out as a cook for Adventure Consultants in 2004 and became a guide in 2009. He has summited Everest once, Cho Oyu 3 times (once from the Tibet side), and has 5-6 summits on trekking peaks like Island Peak, Mera Peak, Lobuche, and more. He also owns a tea house named La Farma, located above Dole on the way to Gokyo. Nawang started out as a KCC student in 2004 and has since served as an instructor for 5 years. He likes to teach KCC students technical climbing and safety skills, especially as it pertains to rescues.
