Mingma Tenzing Sherpa

Mingma Tenzing Sherpa Lead Instructor, KCC Basic Group

Mingma is originally from Phortse and works as a mountain guide and personal Sherpa for International Mountain Guides (IMG). He is a 9-time Everest summiteer, and some of his other climbing achievements include: Summiting Lobuche Peak 10 times, Cho Oyu 7 times, Ama Dablam 1 time, and Island Peak 6 times. Mingma also won the ALCF National Park Exchange scholarship in 2015, through which he spent 3 months working with American rangers on glacier travel, rescues, and climbing in Denali National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and Yosemite National Park. During this time, he summited Denali, completed the Exum Route on the Grand Teton, and climbed in Yosemite. Mingma has been climbing since 2003 and guiding for 6 years. He has been with KCC for 8 years, and an instructor for 6 years.
