Ngawang Tenzing Sherpa Assistant Instructor, KCC Basic Group

Ngawang is a mountain guide from Phortse, working with Russell Brice’s company “Himalayan Experience.” He has summited Everest 4 times, and his other climbing achievements include summiting Manaslu 6 times, reaching Camp 4 of K2, and summiting Lu Ri. In 2016, he acted as a personal Sherpa for Salt Lake City rock climbing gym owner Greg Paul on his third attempt of summiting Everest. Ngawang has been climbing since 2011, but aside from guiding on big mountain expeditions, he is also passionate about documentary photography and filmmaking. Northface climber and Camp4Collective photographer/filmmaker Renan Ozturk has been a mentor to Ngawang, and Ngawang’s footage of Everest Base Camp and the Khumbu Icefall is featured in Ozturk’s 2015 Sherpa Film. Ngawang has been with KCC for 5 years and an instructor for 2 of those years.
