Nyima works in the Nepali restaurant and hospitality industry in Namche. His Namche coffee shop – Café de 8848 – is a popular stopover for many trekkers on the route to Everest Basecamp. Operating since 2011 and now with a branch in Kathamnadu, Café de 8848 is especially known for its warm brownies, apple pie, and espresso bar. Nyima has a hospitality degree from the University of Pokhara, and has a passion for climbing and growing community based tourism in the region. He has been an instructor with KCC since 2009 and his wife teaches English for the KCC program. He loves seeing Phortse come alive during the KCC training season, and hopes to guide students towards safer jobs in Nepali tourism.
