Chhewang Lendu Assistant Instructor, KCC Basic Group

Chhewang is a mountain guide from Phortse, working for International Mountain Guides (IMG) since 2007. Some of his climbing and summit achievements include: Everest 6 times, Lhotse 8 times, Manaslu 1 time, Cho Oyu 2 times, Ama Dablam 2 times, Pokalde 5 times, Island Peak 12 times, Lobuche 4 times, Mera Peak 3 times, Yala Peak 1 time, and Pachermo 1 time. He has been climbing since 2002 and guiding since 2008. Chhewang guides on Everest once a year, and in 2012 used tandem rappel to rescue a climber impaired at Camp 3 due to altitude sickness. He started as a KCC student in 2004 and has served as an assistant instructor since 2014. Chhewang enjoys the community that KCC creates around technical skills, medical aptitude, and client rescues.
