Dr. Steve Mock Director

Steve’s first trip to Nepal and KCC was in 2008 and he was hooked immediately. Since 2011, he has been a climbing instructor and co-director with Pete Athans and Chhongba Sherpa. Steve has made numerous trips to Alaska and the St. Elias Range and has summited Denali in Alaska as well as Aconcagua in Argentina, the highest peak in the western hemisphere. Steve has been an active rock, ice, and alpine climber since 1981 throughout the Rockies, Pacific Northwest, and the Canadian Rockies. He loves the people of Nepal and hopes to return there climb and to be a part of KCC for many years to come. When not in the mountains, Steve can often be found teaching chemistry at the University of Montana Western in Dillon, Montana.
