Danuru Sherpa Lead Instructor, KCC Basic Group
Danuru works as a mountain and trekking guide for Beyul Adventures. Starting out as a porter in 1974, Danuru is now a personal Sherpa specializing in big mountain (>8,000 meters) expeditions and helping clients summit peaks. Originally from the village of Phortse, Danuru joined his first Everest expedition as a climbing Sherpa in 1979 and had his first Everest summit in 1990. Some of his climbing achievements include: Summiting Everest 2 times, Cho Oyu 6 times, and Makalu 1 time. He also has international climbing experience in the Canadian Rockies on Mt. Robson, Mt. Athabasca, Stanley Peak, and trekking in Jasper National Park. Danuru started out as a student in KCC’s first year of operation (2004) and now loves training other students in climbing and safety.
