Jennifer Lowe-Anker - President
Jennifer established the ALCF in December of 1999 after the death of her late husband Alex Lowe. She is an artist and author residing in Bozeman, Montana with her husband Conrad Anker.
Conrad Anker- Vice President and KCC Director
World class mountaineer, Conrad Anker is a professional athlete, employed by The North Face and Timex. His resume of alpinism is augmented by conservation and humanitarian activism. Conrad lives in Bozeman with his wife, Jennifer Lowe-Anker.
Stephanie Slocum- Treasurer
Accountant and Finance Manager for Altus Traffic Management since 2008, Stephanie has extensive experience in finance management, bookkeeping and accounting. She resides in Bozeman, Montana.
Gordon Wiltsie- Secretary
Renowned adventure photographer and mountaineer, Gordon's images have graced the
pages of National Geographic and many outdoor journals. He resides in Bozeman, Montana.
Pete Athans
One of the world's foremost high-altitude mountaineers, Pete has summited Mount Everest seven times, and has appropriately earned the moniker "Mr. Everest". He and his wife Liesl Clark run the Magic Yeti Libraries Program and Pete also teaches at the KCC.
Doug Chabot
Accomplished alpinist and director of Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center in Bozeman, Montana.
Dr. Steve Gipe
An emergency medical physician at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, Steve is a lifelong mountaineer who has ventured to the Himalaya many times and was attending physician on Eric Weihenmayer's Touch the Top expedition to Everest as well as for multiple sessions of the Khumbu Climbing School. He resides in Bozeman, Montana.
Jon Krakauer
Renowned author and mountaineer, known for best selling books including "Into Thin Air" and "Into the Wild". Jon resides in Boulder, Colorado. Jon taught at the KCC in 2003.
Steve Swenson
President of the American Alpine Club and an accomplished mountaineer, Steve is a retired hydro engineer from Seattle, Washington. Steve attended the KCC in 2010 and 2011.
Kristin Taylor
A graduate of University of Chicago Law School, Kristin teaches various law courses at MSU in Bozeman and does mediation.
